Friday Finds: Travel Gear

Friday Finds: Travel Gear

July 22, 2016

It's summertime. It's travel season. You're probably jealous of someone right now who is enjoying themselves on a way cool trip while you're sitting in the office counting down the hours until the weekend. I know I am. It's 100 degrees here in Nashville and Mark (the bearded half of Beardition) is livin' life out on the West Coast this week in San Francisco.

Oh well, thus is life. We all eventually get our turn to let loose on an adventure, totally chill for a weekend in a hammock or just hop in the car and drive. For occasions such as these, we're sharing our five (hard to pick just five) favorite pieces of travel gear in this week's Friday Finds.

1. ROO hammock | Kammok

Designed as a camping hammock, this lightweight, tear resistant, breathable lounger is perfect to take just about anywhere with trees, or any space to hang from. It packs down easily into its attached water-resistant bag and is roomy enough for two.

2. Men's Finder Jacket | Mountain Hardwear

Whether you're hiking the wilderness or exploring the city, it's always nice to have a compact, durable rain jacket handy. You just know that rain is going to come if you don't pack for it! This sleek shell, with its Dry Q. Core is 100% waterproof and breathable. The adjustable hood works with the hook-and-loop cuffs to further seal out the elements.

3. Tumble 1 mtnGLO Backpacking Tent | Big Agnes

So maybe you are the adventurous, nature type. Your idea of the perfect getaway is somewhere up in the mountains, far away from any chance of checking your email. We'll, here's a piece of gear for you, the Tumble 1 mtnGLO backpacking tent. This lightweight, three season tent features LED lights integrated into the tent body so you can experience ambient light with the click of a button. You're ditching the email, but you can still have a little bit of technology around.

4. TLS Mother Load Weekender Convertible | eBags

LOVE this bag! One of our go-to pieces of travel gear. You can literally fit all you need in this one bag. There are so many pockets and hidden spaces that you feel like a kid packing for camp. It also has a laptop compartment in the back (can fit sizes up to 11.75” x 19”) and is sized for carry-on convenience. The full expansion zipper adds over 10 percent of packing space and the bag is guaranteed for life. The bag comes in a variety of colors, but we dig the green.

5. Scratch Travel Journal | Uncommon Goods

This well designed travel pack combines the functionality of a travel planner, a checklist, a diary, an international translator, and an interactive map so you can keep up with where you've been hangin' out. As you visit a place, simply scratch it off the map, which will show a pop of color to display all of your travels. The entire package contains 64 pages and measures 9"x6.5", so not too bad for packing purposes.
